Lot of rains here in Poland right now.
Few weeks ago I have realised I have extremely wet rear carpet floor mat (90 SW) - have dried it and forgot but now it strikes back. It is trickling now intensively here (one drop every few seconds): It goes from under the plastic cover, window frame looks all right. Any of you have had similar leak? Janusz www.yahodeville.com |

Thank you for the hints. I will check it tomorrow. Roof window has been leaking before - maybe someone sealed one end and it goes out another way now. Janusz

My rear carpet has been very wet too - this in itself is not a huge problem but it then condenses on the inside of the windscreen and, if it's cold it then freezes
This is a huge problem......... Please update me on the source of your leak as and when you find it - I'll do the same Thanks chopdogs |

I had a leak on my 2010 Defender 90. The leading edge of the carpet just behind the front seats was getting very wet. On lifting the carpet I noticed wet muddy marks on the floor pan. After drying it all out I folded the carpet back and drove around for a few days in very wet conditions and found this:-
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge The water was muddy splash back from the road which was coming in through the floor pan edge/rivets. I crawled underneath and applied a heavy coating of Underseal along the floor pan edge and any rivets I could see, using a brush. When Dry I then sprayed a liberal coating of Waxoyl all over. 2 weeks later no more wter leaks. The landy is only 8mths old but I couldn't bear a trip to the Dealers , who would have wanted to carry out their own inspection, despite the photos. If it happens again they can do whatever they do on the next service, but with the amount of Undershield I would be surprised if this problem recurs. That's correct. Didn't want to seal it from above but the Underseal and Waxoyl has solved the problem.

Have to wait till the springtime - now everything is frozen. The new thing is that after dismantling plastic panel I have found water traces on the pillar (between door and the window). Checked roof-window too and no signs of water leaking from there. I have to look closed on connection between the roof panel and side-window panel - are there any solutions to seal this place without dismantling the panels? Janusz www.yahodeville.com |

These are two that I use. http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?pro...e=Dinitrol Joint Sealer - Black (310ml)&catID=13&frostCat=Bodywork&frostSubCat=Miscellaneous&subCatID=21 http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?pro...=Brushable Seam Sealer (1 kilo)&catID=13&frostCat=Bodywork&frostSubCat=Miscellaneous&subCatID=21 Mine leaks around the rear floor panels the same as WG has found. I am going to use the brushable seam sealer around the panel to see if that stops it. Bob |

Having had problems, elsewhere, of a similar nature to the leak through the floor panel seams, I've found it better to seal in the direction of the water travel. In the case of the floor panels - seal from below rather than from above. The sealant is more likely to be pushed into the hole. Think of the gaps like a cone. Better to fill the base than fill the apex.
Anyway - worked for me. Have fun and hope it works. |

Thanks for the tip WG - I am going to seal the panels from underneath - when the weather warms up
Mines just been in for a front passenger foot well leak again ! Had the seal under the windscreen replaced in July and the has been fine. This time it was the passenger door seal that had a hole at the top Thats been replaced now so fingers crossed ! Bob |

Try Sikaflex, seals up boats no problem. Both my windows leaked had them done under warranty. Also had the the roof to rear tub redone. Still got more to do. Going to remove the carpets and get muddy and wet to find the remaining leaks. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.
