Split Charge System Installation - Scotland
Looking to install a split charge system for running a fridge in a 110 for trip up the Pyrenees in the summer. Anyone know of any good installers in Scotland? Based in Peebles area so Scottish Borders/Edinburgh/Glasgow would be preferential. Am going to set up the rest of the vehicle myself but not too confident when it comes to the electrical stuff.

Cheers

I would have thought that any of the main dealer would do the work & install for you if you supplied the parts.
(I work in Pentland and have seen vehicles getting modification work done)

Phoenix in Bathgate (I think) would also be a suggestion

Having previously worked in a dealership too, the workshop would not touch aftermarket parts, supplied by the customer. If the parts dept at the dealership didn't supply it, we were not allowed to fit it due to company policy

Of course, that may have changed since the group changed hands to Pentland. I had left before than Thumbs Up

Thanks for your replies. Truck is booked into Pentland LR at Newbridge for full annual service in July. Is that where you are G? If so, any chance you could find out if they would install a split charge for me please? Not sure if that sort of work would invalidate the extended warranty.

Cheers

Failing that, somewhere like this may be happy to do it. I'm sure there will be others in the area.

You could try one of the better independants ???

I use White's a lot. Andy White's a great guy, and service there has always been very good. We even take SWMBO's Evoque there now it's out of warranty

Can't vouch for Gemm or Portalrover, but I have heard friends and contacts use them. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Thanks Martin and Steve. Will take a look. I have heard of whites auto services previously and had heard good reports. A fellow member has offered to let me take a look at their set up which will be a good start point before I start committing to buying anything.

cheers
