50th V8 Brought Back to Life
I acquired 242 as a 1 owner car with 70k miles, she had been used as a builders van by the previous owner and was in a bit of a mess. On collection I was hearted by the beautiful running engine and straight body work but extremely dull paintwork. I set my mind on getting this car back to a condition befitting its badge. The full interior, roll cage, rear step and crossmember were all needing either replaced/repair/renewed.

It received a full strip down and all parts removed including over 20 hours of deep cleaning to remove the grim built up over the years.

It was then ready to be rebuilt and I'm proud to say I done it all myself with the exception of the pro polish which took 10 hours. It is in wonderful original condition with no mods and all original parts.

The following is a list of work done

Pro polish
New interior seats and carpet
New mudflaps
Powdercoated rear step and roll cage
New fuel gauge
New double ss sports exhaust
New gear selector cover

TOP TOP job Albert,...looks beautiful.
Coming from the land of V8s, I'm always interested in exhaust systems. You mention "twin"?.....Are you running headers, & how far do the twin pipes go,...I notice that hardly anyone in the UK runs TWO pipes out the back?....any pics of your system from under the vehicle?
There is NOTHING like the sound of a good V8 working hard!
Pickles.

A beautie indeed. The 50th Anniversary 90 is definately my favourite Landy model (along with the NAS110 and 101).

Think I have missed the boat though as prices are, understandably, rocketing. Should have bought one when prices got down to £8k Big Cry

Great to see one looking this good. Enjoy Thumbs Up Fixing Land Rovers for over 25 years..........and making excuses to the wife for almost as long Smile

Gorgeous looking vehicle .
The sound of a v8 is I think the best engine in the world . I had an early Disco 3 V8 absolutely fab sound , but it had to go , was only getting 12 mpg .
I've recently had a Jag xk v8 4.4ltr , that was a real beast.
That went to make way for the 90. To have a v8 Defender would be the icing on the cake !! Thumbs Up Dog Defender 90 Tonga green . My 2007 County .2.4Tdci puma .
Too many other Discos to mention, including a V8 petrol Disco3 and diesel Disco 3 !! ( All gone)
