Not sure if this helps - I've lost track of whether we you have an uncommitted CAT5 to play with:
http://www.britishtelephones.com/rj45.htm If you do, you need what is usually termed a BT to RJ45 balun at each end. Good luck! That's not a dent, it's a rivet. That's not a dent, it's a rivet. That's not ... oh! That is a dent! 2014 90 XS SW 1997 Discovery 300TdiS (retired to stud) 1966 Series IIA 88" (now my son's) 2001 Astra - I need something to go and buy the parts when the others are off the road! |

Can you draw a picture, I'm getting my head in a twist
![]() Vonage: we have a Vonage line as our second at work and it's generally good. Use the Extensions app on my phone so I can my "landline" phone calls anywhere I have a data connection. The problem is the app is a bit buggy, so today I answered a Vonage call on my phone, it connected me to the caller but kept on ringing which meant I couldn't actually talk to her. The biggest bugbear with Vonage is when we lose the internet connection, then every five minutes you get a phone call from the Vonage box saying "The Vonage device could not connect to the Vonage network" or words to that effect. It's annoying enough during the day, but if it goes off in the middle of the night my boss has to get up and unplug it because otherwise it keeps him awake. I've spoken to Vonage tech support about it and they alternate between saying "our box doesn't do that, it's not possible" and "what phone are you using with it, it must be the phone". In reality, it's one of the two lines feeding our switchboard so we've got loads of phones that it rings. |

Hi Snowy
I'm pretty sure these are what you need (but please don't blame me if they aren't)! http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/31070r/r...dp/TE05859 Hope it helps That's not a dent, it's a rivet. That's certainly along the right lines to come from the wall BT socket to join the RJ45 network cable, I am going to take a look at their site.
I either need 1) male BT cable fitting- run of BT cable- Femail RJ45 to connect to my network cable under the floor OR 2) and adapter to fit into the BT cable wall socket to convert it straight to RJ45- then run of network cable- then a way of joining 2 male RJ45 connectors together. I would prefer option 1 as thinner cable to hide. |

I might have a couple of the Rj45 to BT adapters down if you want.?
I had the mad idea of adding twin CAT5 sockets in each room as I decorated. My mate did the wiring for me so he took a standard phone cable and then crimped the wires to the back of an RJ45 patch panel. Standard CAT5 out from the panel to the socket and then an RJ45 to RJ11 convertor as shown above. I think one of these might work. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380925336954 One end in the BT socket and one end into the RJ45 socket in the house > CAT5 to the shed, and RJ45 to RJ11 convertor and then plug the phone in? 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

If you use 100mb Ethernet (without Poe). You can use pins 7 and 8 for a analogue phone as they are unused.
White & brown Brown Just need to terminate them with some jelly blocks and not onto the socket/panel. Won't work for gb/1000base-tx or power over Ethernet applications. |
