I would just top the oil level up if it's a big leak and sorted it once home.
Hope there's not to many hill starts on the way... |

Output oil seal and a fairly simple job to replace. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

I recommend oem parts, and a tin of brake cleaner to ensure the drum and shoes are cleaned, if there is excessive oil on the shoes bin and replace, not worth the risk 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

Replaced break shoes and output shaft seal today.
Output shaft nut was loose, not a good thing. Probably why it was leaking. Has stopped a bit of vibration on acceleration too! Winter's here, thanks goodness! |

No, but used 'Bearmach' parts and went for a new flange kit so hoping that would be the go.
Also went 80 90 on the Transfer Box oil rather than 75 90 what difference that will make time will tell. Winter's here, thanks goodness! |
