The auto is the same as the td5 disco auto box, though I'd 'guess' you'll need the td5 bellhousing.

I'm not sure on the td5, I only use the reverse light wire from my auto. Not fussed about the inhibitor, that's just a nanny.

if its out of a Disco1 then it will be a ZF4HP22 which doesnt have any electronics to worry about. If its out of a Disco2 then it will be the ZF4HP22EH which is the one which requires an ECU. You can get one from Ashcroft called the compushift for about a grand.

It's a discovery 2 gearbox. Think I am going to have a try with the discovery ecu first see if I can get it to control it.

if its not a manual box you wont get it to work without compushift, for one thing a def doenst have the pitch and yaw sensors that the box ecu looks for.
for non e box you will need to find a way to accelerator feed to box. alot revert to cable actuation just for the box. note V8 TC is prob not ideal size for the td5. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Can I not put all the electrics off the discovery into the defender?
