A novel idea but as you say I'd be very wary of applying any more weight/pressure to the rear door/hinges. |

Neat but not the most secure thing with it being strapped around your wheel. Back door hinges when the door is shut with a static load for short durations isn't a problem it's the weight of the wheel over longer periods and terrain that cause the issues
I had a ladder that clamped to the gutter rail and picked up on the rear cross member body mountings so no drilling required. I can't remember what make it was though but I'm sure a google will throw it up |

Can't remember if they are on the website but they are definitely in the warehouse
