Ifor fitting question.
Should the holes for the hood sticks be ground flush with the top of the pick up tub in order for the canopy to fully contact the tub?

Just wondered.

Mine sits nicely on top of the hood stick holes. The lip is deep enough to still sit over the cappings and the seal (ish) against the cab back is lined up about right (ish) at that height.

By "ish" I mean "with LR Manufacturing Tolerance" or "you can drive a bus through it". Thumbs Up

Ah ok well that is what mine does and seems stable with the same tolerances that you mention. The onlt reason I asked is that the Ifor tailgate and the LR tailgate have about a 10mm gap between them which appears to be about the same as the tops of the stick holes. If they were ground down then they would meet (almost).

Supposed that would throw out the precsion fit of the rest of the canopy! Laughing

No, leave the hood stick sockets as they are, it is designed to sit on them. The gap under the flap is normal. It is possible to get a rubber trim strip seal thingy that will cover the gap and still allow either tailgate to open first, I was going to do this but decided in the end not to bother.

Blackwolf,

Good advice thanks, just had a closer look tonight and spotted the rubber stops that the canopy sits on and allow it to clear the stick holes.

Must say I just chucked it on when I picked it up today.

Must say it has transformed the look of the vehicle.

Cheers,

DJ

AT, would you mind posting up a pic of your DC with the top fitted please? Trying to decide to get a DC and the IW top is an option, but can't really find any decent pics of one fitted.
