Best DRL controllers
So I've had a couple of DRL controllers, and many of them seem to be utter rubbish.

Either poor build quality or trying to do far too many things.

I just want one that will last 15 years and turn the lights on with engine, and off with the sidelights.

Any recommendations?

Cheers Cheers, David

Still need to get them on with the engine somehow, and hard to waterproof... Cheers, David

I don't know a lot about electrics, but am thinking of fitting some drl's. Could you use a relay and instead of having 12v feed switch it on, could you use a feed from head lights to turn the relay off.

And could you get the drl's to come back on with main beam?

Relays to control DRL just work perfect on mine for about 4 or 5 years now. My DRL come on with "contact on" (so before actual engine starting), go off with parking lights or higher. Some will like them to just dim with parking lights or higher, but as I reverted back from LED headlights to my standard SVX Wipac halogens I prefer the DRL to remain off when front lights are switched on. The relays currently are placed high up under the hood, but later this summer all the cabling, relays, etc. will be replaced by and relocated to a new aux electric panel. That is not only for the DRL of course, all other relays like those for the fog lights, of the upgraded headlights wiring loom, etc. will be relocated then and centralised in this panel. Will be more waterproof than anywhere under the hood I think. Laughing
