Another example of our sad claims culture. I am not saying that I agreed with Clarksons actions but this sort of money for a little cut I ask you.
Jeremy Clarkson has apologised to Oisin Tymon, to the Top Gear producer he punched last year. The former host of the show has also settled an injury claim to Oisin Tymon of over 100,000. Also included in th eclaim is racial discrimination as Clarkson called him lazy" and "Irish" and used a four-letter expletive in the exchange. I take it Oisin has never attended a football match as he would listening to the crowd probably go into terminal shock. I also had no idea that the words Irish and Lazy was racial you live and learn. Both Clarkson and the BBC contributed to this amount paid, but the BBC has not revealed how much it contributed to the pay-out. "I would like to say sorry, once again, to Oisin Tymon for the incident and its regrettable aftermath," Clarkson said. Note to Clarkson, you can come round anytime and punch me once, causing a very very minor injury, and pay me over a hundred grand. I nearly blew a gasket when i heard this this morning!! It's outrageous, whilst no one, especially public figures should go around punching people, why does anyone deserve that amount of compensation?!?! Ludicrous!
Mr Clarkson, I'm in Suffolk, please do punch me lightly, I need some money to spend on mods this forum is 'making' me want!!! |

Actually I think there's a business to be had here.....hang around TV studio's/theatre doors/film sets and annoy/aggravate/forget to feed someone famous, get a clattering and bob's your uncle - 100k a throw
Sad sad sad indictment of our way of life. Same league as these PPI/Accident claim tossers that phone up all the time as far as I can see. In fact I'll bet the man in question didn't even start his claim until after he received a phone call from one of these ambulance chasers... ------------------------------- 👲🏻 1986 ex-Military 90 NAD 2.5 Soft Top. It says everything about the UK. Wet country, following a media based, liberal agenda. Utter, utter nonsense.
If the plod and CPS had been involved he would have been done for a Cat3 Common Assault, which for a first time offence would have merited a fine. No custodial time, no community service, just a fine. But 100 large? Never. Likely a Monkey and court costs. Sadly this oaf (Oisin Tymon) is taking the p*** and using the court of public opinion to maximise benefit to himself. Granted JC shouldn't have smacked him, but the threat of legal action (with associated ramped up 'racist' agenda) is sad. Ironically, whilst JC is beholden to the liberals and has to be seen to apologise, pay a settlement and make good, it seems the Court of Public Opinion is now turning against OT for his decision, and the BBC to support him (not to mention pay him whilst he had a year off for feeling 'sad'). Man up. It's all a farce. I worked extinsvely with the BBC whilst I was serving and many producers were the thickest skinned, most bossy, arrogant and unpleasantly aspiring people you could wish to meet (obviously, many weren't). But you don't get to be a producer on TG by being the latter. He (and his legal team) knew they had JC by the cojones. Sad. OT: Lazy Irish C*** 12 months paid leave: Tick. Irish: Tick C***: Tick, tick, tick As far as I can see, JC was only speaking the truth Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

For all of you wanting to be lightly grazed by JC, just remember to take a year's paid leave before picking up your 'hundred large'... Monsieur Le Grenadier

I shouldn't let it frustrate me so much! I was in a non fault car accident over 3 years ago and I still get no win no fee accident claim calls even now. I'm TOTALLY against claiming unjust compensation, but they really do bully and twist things to push you in to doing so, it's so frustrating! Oisin Tymon, you ought to be ashamed and I hope you are making a sizeable charity donation!!! |

Anyone else hear about the 60k a week footballer too!
A WEEK, and that's why he kept quiet about playing around with underage girls. |

No, for fear of stirring up hostility. That's fair enough, everyone has and is very much entitled to their own opinion. I believe it's good to hear the other sides of the argument, so to form a balanced discussion. I don't think we're hostile on here, so please if you want, please do put your views forward.
