Anyone else hear about the £60k a week footballer too!

A WEEK, and that's why he kept quiet about playing around with underage girls. Rolling Eyes

I see things more and more like this happening all the time "ambulance chasing" is a lucrative business in the US.

I think some of it is coming from opportunistic barristers, that get a healthy cut of what ever the settlement is. Some of it is coming from greedy people who are just looking for free money.

It's hard to believe this sort of crap goes on every day. "Lazy" indeed. Why have a job? Just wait for someone to look at you the wrong way, and sue them for something.... and retire. Oh, and at the same time you can help pay your lawyers mortgage for him. it's a Landrover thing...

Is a hundred grand plus over the top for a split lip?

A split lip which did not result in a fine or police caution?

Most definitely!

What is outrageous is that the BBC contributed to this payout! BBC is funded by the licence payer and by the profits it makes from selling its films.

So every time 2 employees have a minor disagreement the employer has to pay out? Sorry that does not seem right to me.

Given what he's apparently on with the new deal, he's still coming out of it ahead financially by quite some margin.

Also as it's an out of court settlement, both all parties must think it makes sense.

Some of you guys would be really upset at what someone got for using baby powder recently without the proper warnings...

JC was probably not an employee of the BBC but rather a contractor to them, this may have a bearing on why the BBC was a third party to the claim.

Nearly all BBC programmes are made by private, commercial, outside contractors.Usually made by the main hosts own company anorl,Jonathan Ross,Jeremy Clarkson,etc..I don't buy a tv licence,so they (Ross/Clarkson) can charge as much as they want. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.
