Brace yourself for all manner of sweeping statements about how bad everything is that Britpart make and have ever made. Personally - I have no issue with some of the Britpart bits I have bought and others have served a purpose and been replaced later. I like to keep an open mind and consider if 'out of this world' quality is needed or whether 'good enough' will do.
No experience of the lights you mention but the B word can be enough for some to dismiss them without ever having seen them.... Phil |

I have found Britpart to be the good and bad boys. I tend to take each product on its own merits. Its never over in my land rover.

Are you referring to Britpart DA6282?
Now Britpart uses a complete mixture of suppliers and can change the suppliers of a particular item. Now that is for a RHD UK specification LED headlight. Look at the specification
Now DOT is the American Department of Transport type approval used in 20-30 countries in the Americas. They are LHD countries! The light pattern for DOT approval is different to the light pattern for E approval. This I personally find rather odd!
What is Row lumens? Surely a typo for RAW lumens? I have seen this expression before coming directly out of China. What does that mean? That people just copy and paste the Chinese specification without actually reading it?? Ingress Protection Rating IP is missing. Why? Now the standard Wipac OEM headlights and the Nolden OEM LED headlights have the H4 on the back of the light unit. The Britpart DA 6242 light has the connector on the end of a cable, so will not give a solid connection. Personally I would go for a branded light rather then an unbranded light. At least you know what he manufacturer is. However your vehicle, your money, your choice. Brendan |

I didn't exactly say they were bad....time will tell. I put some Britpart discs on my 110 (that's what turned up)... I figured: how can they get a round disc wrong???
Warped in 2 weeks. Wiper switch....put it on speed 2, the wipers stop. In my personal experience, a LOT of Britpart parts that I thought 'I'll give them a chance' has failed. The brand new flexi hoses I put on the 90, were fitted, then removed and binned before they had chance to fail. Britpart? Not for me. Back to the lights, Though I did say they look good (personal opinion) my friend loved how they work and said they are awesome. |

If the last digit on any brit part item is a g I will buy it, if not I avoid.
G is their code for oem. I've not had any problems with anything by sticking to this. 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car) 2009 - current .... 2005 zx10r |

Britpart do not have their own exclusive parts suppliers, not in a million, trillion years.
Britpart share exactly the same suppliers as Bearmach/Allmakes/LANDROVER. I bought a GENUINE, LANDROVER DEFENDER ABS MODULATOR,made by WABCO,£1200 cheaper than Landrover charge....entirely thru BRITPART....Long live Britpart. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. |

I too have had problems with brake discs on a Range Rover, it was just for a TD6, standard discs, how hard could it be I thought, and such a significant saving on genuine.
Then within weeks they were warped and I replaced them. I'll never use them again. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Is that the same as this light you sell? If so, I hope you amend your product description to state that they don't give a solid connection... |

That is a Truck Lite generation 1 light.
It is a branded light unlike the Britpart light, it has a good IP rating of IP69K whereas the Britpart light does not even have an IP rating. At least with Wipac, Nolden, Trucklite, JW Speaker you know the manufacturers, can readily find out the specifications etc. With the unbranded lights there are many manufacturers who make extremely similar looking lights, are the specifications and quality of these lights from different manufacturers the same? Will the UK supplier be buying from the same manufacturer next week, next month, next year? Yes the connection on the Truck Lite is on a flying lead, yes I do prefer the solid connections used by Wipac and Nolden who are OEM light suppliers to Land Rover. Would you like to explain how that Britpart light is DOT approved E marked certified for RHD vehicles is road legal in the UK? Because I do not understand how a single headlight unit can be both DOT and E marked. The DOT system is mandatory in the USA and can be used in Canada and Mexico, all LHD countries. E marked system of headlights are used in 180+ countries, both LHD and RHD countries. An explanation of the difference is

Clearly you are if most of your response address issues other than the single one I raised.
My single point is just this: You're knocking a competitor's product on the basis it "has the connector on the end of a cable, so will not give a solid connection." but appear to be perfectly happy to sell the same sub-standard connector on your product. Personally, I'm far happier with the flying lead as I believe it's easier to make a solid connection by being able to push both parts together. I'm always trying to use minimum force on the direct connections as I worry about breaking the back of the lamp. |

Yes we sell Truck Lites which have a flying lead. I always try to give an objective view on items. In my opinion I prefer the connector on the back of the lamp. The chance of breaking the back of a LED headlight which normally is a aluminium housing is quite remote IMO. We sell many items and I am not 100% happy with all the specifications of every item. Oztents are a good tent, however they have in my mind minus points, One is the packed length, two is the weight. All items have plus and minus points. Now would you like to explain how a DOT approved RHD headlight can be road legal in the UK?? Or why Britpart do not give an IP rating? Or why Britpart do not give a manufacturers name? It is interesting the use of the expression Row lumens which occurs on the specification of some Chinese suppliers of LED headlights. So why ROW? Personally, I think it is important to have as much information as possible so that people can make informed decisions about their purchases Your vehicle, your money, your choice. Brendan |
