Hi all, looking to install some rear speakers in my Td5 110 CSW, Removed the metal cover over the RHS rear light cluster and have found some serious bodging going on. Firstly, Red/Orange wire to RHS rear tail light has been cut and a new wire attached that goes around the rear door frame. I think this is for the rear sidelight. When I fitted a trailer socket last rear the RHS sidelight was not working so presume there is a break in the loom between trailer socket connector and fusebox. Looks like previous owner has taken a feed from the LHS rear side light to power the RHS rear side light but will check this later when I remove LHS rear light cluster cover:

When I removed the tape I found a Purple/Blue wire that has been cut. This comes through the grommet in the cover plate with two more wires, one pink and one orange. Does anybody have a clue what this wire is for as I can't see any reference to it in the wiring diagrams in the Haynes manual I have: Click image to enlarge Would be grateful if anybody can shed any light on this. Cheers, Stooby. |

"Shed any light" - like it!
I agree the side light wiring is a bodge to get the RH sidelight to work. The purple/blue is used for the tailgate switch, for the interior light. Is it connected/functioning? The orange and pink I am struggling with, where do they go? 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Thanks for the help guys. Have looked and the tailgate switch is missing completely! Just a hole in the door frame where it should be. My interior lights come on when opening the central locking with the remote and go off after 5 seconds or so, they don't come on when any doors are opened. Another job for the to-do list.
Thanks again for your help. |

Th interior light switch wiring normally comes from roof down beside door hinge area behind headlining and trim, stuck agaist metal with tape.

The end door switch is PRC8548
Sounds like all the door switches have been disconnected or disabled though 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

just ordered pack of 5 OEM switches just in case any of the others are knackered or missing. I know one of the switches definitely works though as whilst working on a sticking actuator on the RHS middle door the other day, I central locked the car with the remote whilst inside the vehicle so I could watch the actuator, opened the door from inside and the alarm went off. Will figure it out hopefully.
