Hi all recently bought a 53plate td5 90 station wagon with alarm and central locking I washed it this morning but only with a sponge. Ever since the alarm keeps going off about once or twice an hour and when it goes off it unlocks or vice versa. I had the same thing a while ago, tended to go off at 3am!

I bought a set of door contact recess switches for a few quid and fitted them, also unplug the movement sensor above the driver, more hassle than it's worth.

Ah will try unplugging the sensor. It doesn't seem to play up if you lol with the key if that makes a difference

i'm pretty sure locking with the key disarms the interior motion sensor, as that way it donsn't go off when you lock the dogs/ kids in Thumbs Up Might have found youre offending item Whistle

It's water in the door switches. Spray them with WD40 with the tube on the can so you get good penetration round the button. Lasts for years.

If that doesn't work, look for a fly or moth inside the cab. Rolling Eyes

I don't think this is true and is a common misconception.

I'll double check though

Yep as suspected locking with key is identical as locking with plip

See here

http://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/uploads...0Guide.pdf

You could verify this by locking with drivers window down via key wait 60secs and wave arm around inside.

Thumbs Up

On mine it works Shocked if you lock with the key (which I occasionally do if the dog is in the car) the motion sensor doesn't set so the dog doesn't set the alarm off. I have also checked the motion sensor works with the alarm fob (just in case) and the alarm went off with me waving my arm inside. Ray

Ray,

Your alarm doesn't go off because you have a Lab & 110

This is just a combination of well behaved naturally lazy dog that lies down a long way from a crap sensor

Go test it now by locking with key with driver window down.

Ultrasonics should arm

Whistle

My manual says to lock the car with the remote while one of the doors is open. Then close the door and voila the car is locked and alarmed but with the interior motion sensor now disabled.

Thing is I have a stock TD5 2003 110 with alarm, no battery back up sounder fitted and no motion sensor fitted in the car, but everything else. Is this a normal setup? I bought mine second hand from Germany.

Rolling with laughter it also works if I leave the kids in the car while I nip into the shops, they sit in the middle row and they are never still Rolling with laughter Ray
