Ta. It’s a MK1 Street Triple (‘07). I’ve cut down the sub-frame to half, taken off all the fairings, put flatter renthal bars on, removed the clocks, taken off mudguards, added the knobbly tyres, and will soon add a new single seat unit, custom under-seat twin, side-exit exhaust and a small, single flat headlight and small rear LED. Should be done by June/July.

Thank you both. My job requires me to travel extensively across the Alps and other parts of France, and eventually Europe. It’ll be used for that, and some general thrashing, when not using the Def
Will post photos when done Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Will the knobbly tyres be able to handle the power of the triumph? I don't think I would want to push it too hard with them on. Looks fun though.

What I've heard is they handle surprisingly well when used on 1200GS which have quite a bit more grunt than mine. Hairpin bends might be fun, but I suppose it will (to some degree) stop me being a hoon-igan. Monsieur Le Grenadier

I support a charity school in Uganda. Here is one of their landrovers getting loaded up for scout camp. Thankfully didn't have too far to go!

Thank you. I'd say I'm aiming for a street tracker look. Clearly the bones are a street fighter, but the shorter tail unit, knobbly tyres, flat bars etc are pushing it to tracker. As for passing your test, a MK1 Street Triple would be an excellent choice. It does a bit of everything but also really well. It handles like a dream, you can barely find better, it has a great and very usable engine that has enough speed to be fun but not dangerous, but also torque so you don't have to overthink your gearing whilst you focus on everything else as a new rider. It's comfortable, unless you're 6'4", not bad on long journeys, looks cool, can work for European trips, sensible fuel economy, customisable, British etc etc. I've not tried the more recent incarnations with ABS etc, but I doubt there's a person out there who's ever ridden the MK1 who wouldn't highly recommend it...
