Well, I did have loads of ideas of different ladder set ups, like a removable one that hooks on the top rail of the rack and you just place it where needed but in the end I just ended up with a simple four tread step ladder, fits on the rack behind the bikes!!

In reality we would miss our home comforts the caravan has so camping is a no-no with the wife and kids!

Miss our Van since it was stolen last summer (just prior to our holiday) we have started camping again..... until we decide what to buy..

This is the Landy ready to go to the lakes Prior to be covering it up and bungee strapping it all down Smile

This didn't include the tent as we stayed in a 'Pod' however we like some home comforts so the coffee machine and microwave are in there somewhere Smile As are the rear seats so a big boot really Smile

The box shape of the Landy is far bigger than my previous car inside, this didn't have rear most seats (7 seater) and I still needed a roof box Smile

The landy swallows stuff much better. Even with the seats folded up Saying that I still plan on using the trailer for our summer trip as then the car should be able to keep almost empty....

if only i had a photo of when we took our disco down to lake annecy and garda about 10 years ago.. 5 people, 20ft boat on the back, another 3.8m zodiac in the boot of the disco rolled up with 30hp engine.. 3 bikes, a barbecue... it weighed in at over 5.5 ton.. we had pelican cases in a specially made bracket bolted to the trailer with beer and soft drinks...

We started off when taking the family holiday with a 90 and the caravan.........

Then as the boys were getting a little cramped in the back along with the two dogs we moved up to the 110...

Now down to the two boys and one dog, the caravan gone, I'm down to tenting but there's still the need for a trailer!.......

Not really a loaded up Defender, but a load of experience gained driving various trailers.

Powerboat weighs 2500 kg, trailer 750 kg, I try to avoid transporting it fully tanked. That adds another 320 kg. 3500 kg braked steel trailer. 120 kg on the towhook. Total length 14.5 meters.
The short wheelbased 90 does a pretty good job of pullng this, and Iīve driven several thousand miles with it. No overheating problems with the 2.2, which is better than the standard 2.4 was.
Always engage low ratio and diff lock on the slipway, to avoid the tail wagging the dog.....

Zodiac ribs weighs 350 kg, trailer weighs 150 kg. 650 kg unbraked single axle trailer.

Twin horse trailer weighs 1000 kg, a horse about 500 kg. Delicate and sensitive goods, need a gentle hand. 1998 Tdi 90 SW,
2008 Td4 90 SW,
2012 2.2 90 SW,
2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma
Heavy Track Raids, 255 MTīs,
Recaro CSīs, anorak, wellingtons
