Th BBUS on the newer model Pumas is located on the near side next to the fuel tank at the rear and is very difficult to find!I (the loom is inside the chassis!) I am willing to post this on here as I believe that the scroats that will pinch your truck will already know this new location and i find the secrecy on here a bit over secret squirrel.......if you cannot find it pm me and i will send you a map! |

If I'm correct it appears the TD5 was spec'd with either the standard horn or the BBUS. Having checked it all out in daylight now, I have a cunning plan which plan which means removing and stripping / modifying the wing loom to relocate the BBUS. What I'm unsure about is if you can run with both the standard horn in place and the BBUS connected or does this cause a problem with the 10AS control? I'm sure it will work but prepared to be corrected!! 2003 Defender TD5 Hardtop (current - work in progress)

Yes you can with no problem. To save the aggro of remanufacturing the wing harness you could buy one of the new FCX BBUS relocator harnesses.

I run a std horn and the std td5 bbus sounder. Their is enough room and play to move the alarm from behind the headlight to back up by the heater and leave the horn connected. Don't waste your money on anything else.

Finally got round to fitting the BBSU at an alternative position. It took a few hours to strip the loom apart and divert but well worth it and much cheaper than buying a new loom. As usual its one job off the list but uncovered some more jobs to do ... and so it goes on!!! 2003 Defender TD5 Hardtop (current - work in progress)
