Removing Puma front door trim cards
Help please!

I would like to remove and then refit my front door trim cards on my Puma 90 to do some soundproofing and trimming.

Can anyone give me a 'Noddies Guide' with perhaps some pictures how to do this please? It looks like it should be quite a straightforward job but I am guessing clips/fastenings etc may perhaps be a challenge when re-fitting...

I've not done the front doors, but have done the rear door and other vehicles.

It always helps to have a few spare trim clips in house, as some are bound to break or be weakened - that's what I found most annoying, the clips hold tighter from new, once they been removed and replaced once or twice they can lose their spring and form and therefore can be a bit looser, resulting in rattles and squeaks.

These have come in handy a few times but they are not cheap.

Get a decent trim removing tool. Best done on a warm day as less chance of snapping the fittings

re removal of the door cards, as stated trim removal tools help, remove grab handle and the screw in the door open handle trim and remove them, then gently pull the bottom of the panel out using the trim tool to ease the clips out, should all go well if you are gentle and steady, did mine with no issues. When you have it off check the screws in your door handles I had 1 fall off which is why I dad to remove my trims. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

The trim around the lock peg is best removed with a block of wood under the lower edge hit with a hammer from below.

The two black plastic 'visible' clips have a centre pin that needs to be pushed in - but not too far - so that they can be removed

Aside from the clips across the top under the window, all others can be removed very carefully and gently with your trim tool.

Once everything is released lift the card slowly at an angle outwards from below and this will release the top clips

Another thing to watch is the areas where the paint are. Use some tape on the paint to avoid the back of the tool damaging it. Thumbs Up
