2016 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Aintree Green

Read as per first post, but thanks anyway.
The question wasn't "what is the correct grade?" because that is well covered but rather I was wondering why is it so complicated to find what it should be.
In the days before Def2 or indeed the internet in general I wouldn't know any different to what is in the owners handbook.

Hi guys, well, I'm just wondering if a standard 5w30 really was that bad.
Imagine yourself at a garage in the middle of nowhere. You're on a longer trip. Far off.
Only the user's manual on board. Oil service is lit.
Who could claim you taking an oil as per specification in the manual? say 5w30.
Everybody would do so... Best, jukathy
