Leak from bottom of fuel filter and difficulty starting
Hi there,

I noticed a small leak from the bottom of my fuel filter about a month ago. I did a quarter turn on the water sensor and then it seemed to stop the leak. I now have a Problem with starting the truck. It will start after pumping the gas a few times and holding on with the starter. Some white smoke comes out of the exhaust as well as the engine. Once running it works perfectly. If I try to restart it later in the day there seems to be very little problem.

I have checked the water sensor and the fuel filter again. it looks as if the fuel is leaking through the wiring of the water sensor it also appears as if there is only one wire which is attached to the water sensor. It looks like someone probably tried to install the fuel filter with the water sensor on and therefore sheared off some of the small wires.

I am planning on getting the water sensor as well as the fuel filter changed. Along with the difficulty starting and white smoke coming from the exhaust and the engine, is the fuel filter leaking enough to explain these issues?

Thanks a lot.
