Brightened the beer cooler a bit up. Actually brings some tasty bit of colour to an otherwise entirely black SVX interior.
Found this sticker place in the UK after someone on here mentioned it recently. Amazing amount of classic Land Rover stickers and other that you can order there. Eric Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge And then installed the Ardsafe on the cooler, holding the Ardcase firmly in place with a rather tight bungee cord. Private car washing? How does that work? I never ever washed the SVX myself, have been going thru our local commercial car wash streets from day 1. But they are Swiss or German made of course. Does not seem to hurt it. And that sticker vendor is absolutely great indeed. Since those above pictures were taken, dozens more have been added. Eric You never actually own a Defender. Thanks Wildcat, it is the only colorful item in an otherwise entirely black SVX interior. Here is a picture of the completed stickering, actually did that in 5 or 6 stages.

Doubled up my spare wheel security.
Was an easy mod for me, as after last winters theft of my four summer Dual Tone wheels plus the bag with regular and locking nuts from their winter storage at home, the new Dual Tone wheels came with a full set of 5 new locking nuts which carried a different code than the original locking nuts code. The original spare wheel and original adaptor with its locking nut were not part of the theft as those were on the truck which was not at home at the time of the theft, so I initially replaced the spare wheel locking nut by one of the five new versions which carry a different code, so that all 5 new locking nuts would match. Today I put that original spare wheel locking nut back on in replacement of one of the two regular nuts, so have one non locking and two different coded locking nuts on the spare now. Unless something unexpected interesting turns up between now and Xmas, this could well be the last mod of this year.
The Naka LED 3rd brake light, clear version. Nicely finished item, really what you call plug 'n play installation. Think with the white clear version I made the right choice for the SVX, it melts in rather well with the other clear SVX lights. Really happy with the end result. First modification of the year done today. For starters, I don't take credit for having thought about it, that is Andy on here, I just copied his idea.
Dealer installed two footwell lights, LR part number XDC500070, which originally are footwell lights used in the previous generation FFRR, but which in 2008 were also standard installed in the SVX cubby box as extra separately switchable front cabin lights. The discreet installation of two more of these now under both sides of the dash looks very factory in my case as those little 3W lights are all four identical. And the best thing, and main reason for installing them, is that in the dark I now can see the key hole of the Ardcase, no more searching around for that key hole in the darkness of the footwell. The power was taken from the front roof interior light and wiring runs via the A-post, these two footwell lights come on and fade out perfectly with the rest of the interior lights. I better never leave the interior lights accidentally on, because that is now a total of 32W (10W each front and rear roof lights plus four times 3W for these FFRR lights). No interest to ever replace the standard 10W, respectively 3W incandescent bulbs by after market LEDs as the cabin is perfectly lit now without the harshness of interior LEDs. Very happy with the result, dealer did a perfect installation job here. Some pictures... XDC500070 The standard SVX cubby box lights with their own switch Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Added same as footwell lights Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Cubby box, footwell lights, and main cabin lights on Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Cubby box lights separately switched off, only footwell lights and main cabin lights on Click image to enlarge The way it is all wired up allows use of all 6 cabin lights come on automatically, or only the 4 cubby and footwell lights, or the main cabin lights with the footwell lights but without the cubby box lights. Next mod is in the pipeline, that one I will do myself, but I first need to receive a box from Dan at Duckworthparts. Eric Eric You never actually own a Defender. No, not really as I left it to the dealer to connect it all up. I told them beforehand that they had to make sure that they would have the correct connectors at hand. Pretty sure it just is a quite common 2-pin connector, but don't know the name for those. Sorry.
But, as usually, someone here on the forum will know I guess. Eric You never actually own a Defender.
