So here is what came out of Dan's box. A complete Adventure edition cubby with black leather lid. Click image to enlarge Early this sunday morning first removed the SVX cubby box lid, which is a standard lid, also removed the leather Adventure lid from the new cubby, then installed this leather Adventure lid on my SVX cubby box. Before... Click image to enlarge It worked out all very well, with a small flat screwdriver carefully removing the narrow long staples which fix the strap, and then I was able to refix the Adventure strap inside the SVX cubby with a small screw which came with the Adventure cubby box, and I was even able to re-use one of the original staples by carefully hammering it through the strap into the cubby side. So the Adventure lid is perfectly supported by the provided screw and additionally by a recuperated staple. Very happy with the result, the Adventure lid is very sobre, nice black leather and padding, and the extra few cm finally make a perfect arm rest. Also complements perfectly my dash FCX leather parts with their black stitching. And strangely enough the Adventure cubby front has not the two stitching patterns on its sides, but the lid does have that. While the SVX cubby front has black stitching on each side, but the lid hasn't. Explain. So this is perfect now, the new leather Adventure lid brings continuation to the black stitching on my SVX cubby, actually the very same stitching pattern, perfectly aligned. After... Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge So now I have a brand new cubby with a as good as new SVX (standard) lid in storage which probably will put up for sale some time. I like this top, my FCX with the XS thread in the centre looks terrible now, faded and grubby, and i keep on top of cleaning the inside. I have ordered to 2 plain leather tops and dyed the xs thread black on the rest of the cubby with a fabric touch up pen so it all matchs... you went a long time Eric with the standard lid! Andy

It is bummer they don't allow letters on the Swiss plates, maybe one day they will seeing as Geneva seems to be getting close to having used up all the 6 digits now.

I have been exclusively wearing high quality cotton shirts and cashmere sweaters in order not to damage the cubby lid in the more than 7 years it was in use. Andy, remember our PM exchange about the little center dash badge? Any progress with that? PM me if you like. Eric PS - friday I will receive by UK hand delivery here two of those FFRR small spots as you have installed under the dash in both footwells. My plan is to do the same, so I may ask you where exactly to connect those to the interior light circuit. You never actually own a Defender. Arran, yes, I think the standard numbering now already got to the GE8xxxxx series. There are some GE9xxxxx series numbers in use for a long time already, but those have been special issues, much like the very low numbers 1 to 1000 approx which are reserved for taxis. So I guess there must still be about 150.000 possible new never used numbers available for new registrations before they get to the magic GE999999 number plate. Probably will take only 3 years or so before getting there. If they would introduce letters then, as you have seen, I already blocked one possible combination for myself. But I doubt that they will introduce letters as it would not fit the federal number plate system with all other cantons not even getting close to a XX999999 number. I guess GE will start recycling numbers which are not in use anymore to remain within the 6 numbers combinations. Mind, it are not only cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles and scooters which eat up possible number combinations, I also have another one as below. Click image to enlarge Actually 2 more I have blocked because that bike got stolen last year , and I replaced it with a new one, so again a new number being used while the stolen combination remains out of circulation. Finally sunny and warm spring weather kicked in here, so ideal to get under the SVX again.
Small and easy upgrade today. Replaced the standard front mudflaps, which have no LR logo at all, by genuine Adventure edition mudflaps with their old style logo. Replaced only the rubber flaps which I first removed from their genuine brackets, the Entreq SS mudflap extensions just remained in place, so just a matter of three SS bolts, nuts and washers each side. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Tomorrow intend to replace the standard rear mudflaps, which have the modern LR logo, by the same Adventure edition flaps with their old style logo, but here the entire brackets will have to come off as at the same time I finally will install the black powdercoated SS brackets which I have in store for a couple years now but never bothered to install as my genuine brackets and rivets until today just decided not to start rusting yet. Oh, and to keep the list complete, last weekend I added the below genuine Defender tire pressure sticker. Click image to enlarge Eric You never actually own a Defender. Arran, mine are the genuine SVX side bars. They are grey and have a different top cover than yours. Best thing would be to park next to another 110 with genuine side bars and with front mudflaps installed and compare to see if there is sufficient place. Matter of fact all SVX came with front mudflaps from the factory, so presume yours were removed at some point, maybe at the same time as they replaced the genuine sidebars by those black ones.

All said and done. Used these Offroad-TEC stainless mudflap holders to replace the genuine mild steel ones. Click image to enlarge Takes a bit of time, but was easier than I thought as the Entreq rear mudflap holders reinforcements could be left in place unchanged. The Offroad-TEC mudflap holders simply bolted on to those in replacement of the standard ones. One done, one left to go. In the first pic below a lid of a pot is visible, as well as a small flower pot saucer with a small fine pointed paint brush. Well that was to liberally use Weicon in the chassis screw holes of course. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge End result as below. Now that I needed some new flags for oncoming trips, and as some of the old flags were faded during the years, I took the opportunity to have make all the flag stickers new, and this time I researched to have every flag in its actual height/length aspect ratio. Click image to enlarge So how is that, Eric? Vincent, I tip my hat. Justice is done.
And, I promise to you that I never will stick the below on my truck. Click image to enlarge Eric P.S. why did you make the Belgian flag a square this time? You never actually own a Defender. Nothing big, but found a good spot I think for some stickers of our Swiss Land Rover club... Fits the Coleman beer cooler like a glove.
