Just to show there are differences but also look carefully some have abs and some don't.
&feature=player_embedded I would prefer a D3 with good tyres if I have to brake hard. Specially in a case were I don't have distance enough I still have good airbags. I have seen them do this in Germany- they go to large car parks and open areas to invite the public in with their car so they can push them to the limit and find out their abilities. Good idea in my books Glyn |

I like my AT2's.
Don't last as long as BFG AT KO but are much better in the wet and give a better feel for the road. Andy. |

Thanks for all the advice. New BFG ATs are now on and the TRs are for sale if anyone is interested.

Good choice I'd like to do the same one day but it does cost a pretty penny. They look more suitable for a Landy in my opinion if you know what i mean.

i went standard 235's. i had them on my 300 and they seemed to give a good balance between dry grip, digging into the soft stuff and snow. i have never had a problem in the wet with 235s whereas some people seem to have issues. i have always wondered whether it has had anything to do with wider tyres don't grip so well in the wet.......no real idea. decided to go standard width again. Here is proof of the nonsense im afraid AT2s i had fitted to my D3, kissed the sidewall and i mean kissed on a loose rock in Tunisia and this is the result: Tyres were less than 1000 miles old. I really liked them on the Disco but also had slight traction issues in the wet as well..now running Mickey Thompson ATZs on the 110 and never had an issue...think that knob cobley runs em on his vehicles for all his trips as well...until his Thai bride takes him to the cleaners You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things |

The point about running with higher than 30 psi was a valid one about slipping in the wet I think as I thought they were rubbish then again I ran mine at 34. I also had a BFG AT throw a tread on me on the A419. Hand piercing steel wire all over the place. Wouldn't get them again despite their extreme longevity would definately try their KM2 s next time if I don't hear otherwise. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |
