Hi Chris,
I've been offline for a few weeks. When is this highland drive, I know I paid the £50 but can't remember if I signed up for a 1 or 2 day jaunt! I live in Aberdeenshire so not too worried about camping (yet). I'm taking my two boys, 9 and 11. Cheers Andy |

The zip park in Aviemore is brilliant! The guys who run it (G2) are absolutely great too- I used to cross paths with them regularly canyoning and whitewater rafting when working up there.
The steam train is lovely too, steam locomotives are my guilty pleasure so I'm sure we will be visiting the railway at some point. The section of railway they used in the filming of Harry Potter runs from Fort William to Mallaig (Google; Glenfinnan viaduct) and will be running steam trains too. Chris |

Sorry Keith- posting on a phone as laptop has packed up so I can't see folks locations!
I fall into old work mode sometimes and forget that there's locals about! There isn't an itinerary as such yet- I will be meeting up with Ian on Friday to put the plan together fully and check some of the routes so Friday evening I'll have a proper plan in place. I'll have a chat with him before then and see what time he wants us to meet on Saturday morning for those not camping. Chris |

Your information is correct mate and useful to many who don't know what's in the area , especially those with their kids along. Cheers

I will be looking to meet up with the other members of the forum at the campsite Friday evening.
I am working so will be a late arrival from Edinburgh Cheers My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |

I'll be rumbling in on Friday also, although my number 2 has had to drop out (sounds wrong) with a burst appendix so I'm on my own, which to be honest, I really don't mind!
Was thinking of getting a CB, can you just buy them, or do I need a licence? Any suggested makes etc? Cheers Michael |

I'll be at the campsite Friday lunchtime, I'll be dropping the trailer then heading over to Ardverikie to get sorted for Saturday, then reappearing in the evening.

Chris, looking forward to meeting you. In case things don't work out that we all meet up, where do we go on the Saturday morning and when? I'm sure this won't be needed, but it would make me feel better to have a plan B, especially after such a long drive.

CB
These have been License free for 20 or more years. There is a regular advertiser in LRO who specialises in CBs. I don't know much about CBs these days as I moved on to Amateur radio about 10 years ago but I was "The Flying Tup" based here in Fife back in the law breaking days! |

For those not coming to the campsite on Friday (or early doors Saturday?) the plan is to meet at the Old Filling Station at the head of Loch Laggan, postcode PH20 1BX. It's a very easy to spot- there is a pull in with an old filling station looking building in the middle, and Ian has some signage up.
