Rear Diff Pinion Seal Part Number?
Hi,

Was under the Landy and changed the oil in the axles this weekend and noticed I have a weeping rear diff pinion seal Sad

I have a 2012 2.2 TDCI 90 hard top - can someone please confirm the part number of the seal I need? Various parts websites seem contradictory.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

Fish.

Have a look at lrparts.ru, select "in English" from the menu bar, click the "enter microcat" link then select Defender 2007- from the side bar Thumbs Up

Many thanks jomara, it's a very useful site.

There's two rear axles shown in the microcat and depending on which one it's either:

FTC4851G

Or,

FTC5258

Can someone put me out of my misery? Is the FTC5258 for the 90 and the FTC4851G for the 110?

Cheers,

Fish.

Brilliant, thanks jomara,

Next piece of info I had gleaned was that it's advisable to change the flange while you're at it, as if it's scoured or in any way marked, you'll be back with a leaking seal in no time.

Has anyone got a recommendation or know of anyone that sells the 'kit' (Flange, seal, nut and bolt)? I'm not quite at 'genuine parts' prices, but also had bad experiences with the 'blue box' company too, so a middle of the road would be good!

Cheers,

Fish.

Is the OEM Corteco? I used their seals from Paddocks on my Series 2 axle rebuilds. I wouldn't use a blue box part for this.

Many thanks milesr3,

I've gone for the Corteco seals, no blue box!

Cheers,

Fish.
