Dash fuse box cover fouling OBD adaptor
I've fitted a blue tooth adaptor to the OBD port in the fuse box which now just about fouls the cover. Anyone any ideas of how to overcome this apart from dropping the OBD socket....

OBD socket isn't obviously designed to have anything permanently fitted, 4 options I can think of,

Take the two mounting screws off of the OBD socket reroute it and it will fit.

Splice the 7 cables and relocate the OBD socket elsewhere. (Another security layer.)

Cut a hole in the front cover.

Fourth option is a bit more technical, involving an OBD connector a pcb and a bit of soldering....

Hello Dave Bellis

I went for the unsophisticated 'cut a hole in the front cover' route.

As K9F suggests relocating the OBDII Socket, has it's advantages... Thumbs Up

I have a replacement cover ready for this... just haven't worked out where to place the OBDII yet,
(and built up the courage to cut the Socket out... Shocked )

My need was in fitting a ScanGaugeII

thanks for the replies, your hole cut looks pretty neat any tips....
I'm thinking of doing this as I need viewing access to the adaptor...

Re locate the OBD socket, then get an OBD splitter, this will enable you to keep the gauge plugged in, and still have a fully functional OBD socket under the dash panel.
