Hi guys 'n gals...
Would anyone happen to know if there is an OBDII adaptor/splitter thingy, like that below, which has the ability for at least one of the 'splits' to slot back into the original OBDII holder... I have one such splitter already, but the replacement 'splits' are too big to slot back into the original port holder... Rog... The GREEN One... The manufactured ones you can buy are absolute rubbish with the smallest diameter cable, in fact too small to work with. Considering there are only 7 cores to the OBD socket you are much better sourcing the piece-part spares and making exactly what you want if you have the tooling and technical acumen. I did by trawling the local scrap dealer for the piece-part spares. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Thanks Mal, but I am afraid I have neither...
I would happily use the existing OBD socket, but if you plug anything into it, in situ, the fuse panel cover will not close and it is a right Royal PITA to keep popping in and out... The splitter I have did work with my Ultra Guage though and even permitted diagnostics from the alternate OBD spare socket, it just won't pop back in the OBD's home... Rog... The GREEN One... Yarp, I did that in Mamba Walfy, but thanks for the suggestion...
Just was looking for an alternative Y splitter that would fit the spare OBD plug back in its original home socket for the Keswick Special... If it wasn't a brand new motor I might risk playing as Mal has suggested, but... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

It's the cheapest solution, ie free. Which is always good in my book. No new parts to buy or fail once they've been fitted. ANd you can reinstate in minutes and no one is the wiser 110 D250 SE HT

None of the cheap Y splitters will be suitable. You will have to have a loom made up.
The original connector housing is available from LR under part number YPC107920 for a couple of quid. Apart from the LR part above I have all the other parts needed to do what you need. Drop me a PM if you want the parts supplied or loom built 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |
