Have you checked you have a clean tight connection on the aerial to wire/connector where you stick it on the screen? BM52

Check the plug is located securely too, I've known them come loose very easily.

I sat in the truck for a good while today checked the plug at the back, checked the aerial connection. It was a little lose on the glass (less sticky) but the plastic bit that pushed on to the sticky film was ok. I sat there and push it firmly to the window film whilst trying to search but nada. Guess it could be the aerial.
Is there a better internal aerial option? Thanks guys |

I have the exact same aerial from my Kenwood. Been on for the last 18mths, with excellent reception. Are you sure something electronic has not gone in the head unit. This is not unknown. Can you check the head unit with someone who has a working aerial system? LANDYWATCH

Difficult to test that. I'll try a different aerial I think

Is there a software command to tell the unit that it has an aerial? Do you have to power the aerial? Like the sub-woofer command.

It was working fine and now not. I think condensation may have affected the aerial. I've ordered a this splitter http://www.amazon.co.uk/Autoleads-PC6-536-...B00FRGBLIW that will use the FM aerial - worth a try although I'm not hold out for great things with it. It has a 14 day return so worth experimenting with.

If you've got a rack or roof bars try an external aerial. More work I know but would work best.
There are one's I've seen that are a whip style and about 20cm in length. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡ªðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸â›½ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°ðŸ’ª |

Thanks Steve - I looked at whip ones but currently my truck doesnt leak at all ( ) so I didnt want to drill a hole for it. I may go down that route if I have no luck with the internal ones.

For DAB in my Defender I just replaced short rubber wing mounted aerial with a short rubber dual FM/DAB one. The one I got is technically a roof mount type, but it does the job same as on the wing. Range from about £30 to £70 for something reasonable.

Thanks Pam
Are the cables shortened in the photo just to make it easier to see or are they that short and you need to connect under the wing then run cables through to the head unit? Presumably you're getting good signal? Thanks, Dan. |

The sort of thing Pam has mentioned is the jobby, Entreq did similar I think but for silly money.
Only issue to be careful with is the plugs and compatibility. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡ªðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸â›½ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°ðŸ’ª Last edited by custom90 on 22nd Jan 2014 3:44pm. Edited 1 time in total |
