Sounds like an earth issue on the rear window glass. At the base of the glass there are a couple of tab connectors that join the printed circuit of the heated screen. One of these will be heated screen power, one for the high level brakelight and then another for joint earth. It is common for one to be knocked and not give a contact.
They can be re-attached or with the earth you could run another wire from the brake light to act as a bypass |

Definitely an earth fault of some kind, I'd say.
Check all the rear lights in combination with each other, I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are odd results. Check the earth connction in the vicinity of the offside transfer box mounting bracket (this is the main earth point for the rear end harness). |

Ok so need to check the Earth from each brake light and the Rear screen, shall i put say white grease on the connections?
