Defender Theft Arrests
I see there appear to have been a group of 12 "gentlemen" arrested in connection with Defender Thefts in Notts/Derbyshire/Yorkshire.

Looks like some of their names appear to people on Landywatch amongst other places and no doubt are lurking on here. So just a reminder to people to be careful what they post.

One of them allegedly is running a spares business in Mansfield. 2015 Audi Q3 Quattro S Line Plus 184 TDI Stronic

Part of me was prompted to post this after I saw a very proud member post a pic including reg plate of his new purchase. Another member asked if he'd been at xxx location to which he confirmed yes. 2015 Audi Q3 Quattro S Line Plus 184 TDI Stronic

Not convicted as yet but even if they are it will probably not be more than a slap on the wrist.

Ps afaik one at least of those names was on the landywatch group on Facebook and also on angry Pumas but they have been removed from there. In the words of Hill Street Blues - Be careful out there and think what you put on social media

Some of names appear on the Kirton offroad forum, Sheffield Landrover owners Facebook page and various other 4x4 parts for sale groups on Facebook. And yes, one of them I believe owns/owned a 4x4 garage near Mansfield.

So the police have done their job Thumbs Up

Now the big problem are the CPS and the courts. These in general are lowlife scumbags at the bottom end of a long conspiracy chain.

So poor old, hard done to Joe Bloggs ( who has never been arrested for stealing car parts before Whistle and has had a deprived childhood) gets arrested for stealing a single Puma bonnet worth say a £1,000, found guilty and gets a slap on the wrist.

Now if he got charged with conspiracy to steal multi million £. ( being the value of Land Rovers stolen in the local police force areas) and found guilty he will be doing time. Thumbs Up

The lowlife who steals the bonnet or the Land Rover which is shipped abroad is part of a chain of organised lowlife in an organised multi million £ 'business' with extremely high 'profit margins'

If someone got found guilty of conspiracy to steal a million £ from the bank or HMRC they would be doing serious time.

Wales 2007 Defender 90 Other CSW Trident Green
Great news, but why such slow action.

I read the article posted on the news website and it appears this was an eighteen month ongoing operation. Now how many people have had their Land Rovers stolen during this time, how many people have unknowingly bought stolen parts from these people. I am sure that the money generated from these crimes has doubtless given these thieves a good lifestyle, perhaps with foreign holidays, big wide screen TV’s etc.

During the year and half the police have been watching these criminals why the **** did they not arrest them sooner, yes the police will probably say they were watching them to see who else was involved, but it does not take eighteen months to clock up known associates, is it police incompetence, cut backs, or are vehicle thefts low down on the police take action book.

Personally if I would have had my new Defender stolen during the last year and half and especially in the area these people were operating in I would be asking that police force for some answers. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..
