It is a more complicated wiring job...
A poverty spec will not have the wiring for the seats... so you need to sort out making up a wiring loom as well as fitting the switches. Complete looms do come up on eBay, but then you've got to fit it - dashboard out job. I bought one recently to add heated seats and screen - works out cheaper than a seperate loom and timer from eBay, but a bigger job to fit. My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk

I recently purchased a heated seat kit and have partially fitted it to my 2009 2.4 Puma; the drivers side is temporarily plugged into the cigar lighter while I contemplate how to wire it in. I purchased from a Landrover dealer (MJ Fews, Charfield, Glos) last Saturday two heated seat switches and from eBay the black plug connectors. I found a thread here http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic10705-180.html which shows the plug wiring detail. I also purchased a fuse box which I have installed under the drivers seat which I intend to use to power via relays (part of the heated seat kit) the heated seats. The heated seat kit came with the round switches - I didn't fancy cutting holes in my Landy just yet ( only had it a few months ) that's why I acquired the ' proper' ones. I'm in no rush to wire it in as its working ok from the cigar lighter - need to wait till it warms up outside first (but then I won't need them!)

I am just about to do this to a poverty spec, does anyone have MPN for the looms required or make them up? Cheers

There's no LR part number for the loom alone, it is integrated into the body wiring loom (or not).
Pretty sure Mobilecentre will supply without the switches. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

I have the kit from FCX, very good it is too and works perfectly and looks completely factory.
Combined with Waeco heat pads. |
