I've always wondered if i should of gone to the TD5, but i thought do you want all the ecu stuff or not as with the tdi, and on the other hand, when do you stop wanting more power !!!!!!!! mine was never Laughing Laughing Laughing
Hope you find an answer, i'm still trying to find mine Banging Head

i have been doing some searching on hybrid turbos , once the boss agrees Bow down i`ll fit one . i also have a discovery 2 td5 , its been chipped , de-egr`d , big intercooler , boost box with lots more boost n she flys along , thats what makes me wonder how fast you could get the td5 defender to whizz along . both vehicles are brilliant in there own right , the defender can seriously shift off road , the disco , can cruise on road , comfy n quiet . will let ya know when its done

last update this week , turned up the boost to 1.5bar , tottally pointless as the turbo is none to sharp to start with , and one of my front mudflaps complete with snapped bracket is laying somewhere in norfolk , new pair ordered with galv brackets . untill next time , have fun dudes .

Edit , unseized the diff lock tonight

i read in one of the landy books that one bloke got over 200 bhp with the TD5 engine, but had head gasket failure most of the time, not sure he sorted it out ? dont quote me on it but it was a few years ago ! ! the other good thing about Tdi engines is that they are about half the price of a TD5 engine to repair !!!! Very Happy

evening all , my td5 makes some power but i watch the dials like a hawk Smile

so , the diff lock works n shes back together Very Happy during the week , i popped the 6 screw cover off the clutch little box , so i could rid the pedal of the squeeks , upon cruising to the local chippie for tea tonight, i find the clutch pedal has gone from its "normal" postion to alot further down , still worked ok though . so once me belly was full and the net scoured , i found my pedal was at the 140mm height from the floor , no carpet , but the 6mm freeplay was a lot lot less than what i had , upon removing them 6 screws , i found i had full adjustment of the bar in there , have now adjusted the bar and got the clutch position back to normal , with more adjustment avaliable if ever required , the clutch fluid looked a tad mucky , so that will get bleed next , but in day time. these defenders sure keep ya busy , oh and fitted a new windscreen bracket n gaskets , that 3 bolt bit , n Censored me , she stopped leaking in that area Thumbs Up hooray

whats next i wonder ?

Love it
