hello everyone , an update on my even more awesome defender , she may leak when it rains , she may have a yellow headlight ( found melted connector this morning ) . The rear wiper is working again , the front wipers click with every swipe , but she now has a very tweaked pump and a full size intercooler . and do you know the best bit , despite her niggles , she is bloody amazing , what a machine , FUN with a capital "F" yeeeeeeeee harrrrrr , hope everyone are well , oh must fit a snorkle , we got some deep water out there Laughing

veetee , apologies for my poor pic , if you pull away the door rubber , where it bends down at the front , i had a gap each side , i filled this with sealant and thin foam tape , this stopped alot of water . if i parked the defender so it was lower on the drivers side , and it rained lots , i then had water coming throught the bracket with the 3 bolts , it looked as though it was coming through one off the bolts , i now have some new brackets and gaskets , but yet to fit them , have treated her to some new door seals too , yet to fit as when i seem to have 2 mins , its rains n rains

love your thread Razz, welcome to the 300 tdi "club", i've done most of that to mine, the one thing you might find a bit better is, that i have always used K N air filters, find them better and more responsive, hope it helps you, keep up the pics and updates Thumbs Up

thank you for the links , very very handy indeed .

on an engine tuning note , i had turned that pin in the pump to give more fuel , and turned down the starwheel , but was intriqued that i was not getting any smoke at all , so thinking i may get more uummpphh , i pinged off that full power screw tamper thing and screwed that screw in , 2 turns later , i now get some smoke , hoorarrrr , have tweaked the smoke screw so i get just a little on launch , theres just a smidge in the middle , n a litttle at the top when flat out , will try n get a smidge more outta the top end and and then leave it be , once ya get the hang of it and know what does what , its actually fun fiddling . next , turbo time

k&n filter now on my christmas list Very Happy

an update on the pump tweaking , several starts n stops later , shes sittting pretty with a nice haze from the pipe , i did for the sake of it , over adust to make it a smoke machine , but felt a pratt and it did`nt really make a huge difference , also fitted a top of range ebay turbo boost gauage , just to see what shes pushing , mine flys up to 1.4 bar , but quickly calms to 1.1bar , so thats ok then . so thats just about the end of the engine tweaks , enjoyed it i have , but should i have got a td5 i wonder ,oh n fitted silicone pipes at last , that made a slight improvment due too the original pipes being a tad poor , cheers ady
