For standard size LED's two options, RDX which I have inc relay or Wipac.
Both are extremely similar, both have good reviews, both are similar in price. The RDX is available in parts via eBay or a kit and Wipac again on eBay or somewhere like Paddocks. I went for RDX because I wanted to buy a kit that was to what I wanted and to purchase in stages. More expensive though this way.. |

I like the NAS lights and did a totally reversible conversion on my new 90: http://www.defender2.net/forum/post386004.html#386004
Edit: I don't like the "discrete" LED ones and searched out factory-type Perei lamps. Like the SVX ones but coloured. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Car Builder Solutions stock the Le Perei NAS lights, and the Wipac LED lights too, thats where I got all my stop/tail/indicator/sidelights from.
The Wipac ones have the correct connector on them so are a straightforward plug & play. Mark S CONVOY for HEROES www.facebook.com/convoy4heroes www.lothian4x4response.org ------ Td5 90 Thread in 'My Defender' Forum |

I like NAS,cosmetically and for throwing out more light, purely because they are bigger, bought some branded "quick reaction" (incandescent) stop and tail lights from Halfords, you can also get heavy duty bulbs anorl.Don't quite trust led "bulbs" for stop and tail (legal or not),tho I do happily have them for front sidelights.
Only thing with NAS is "moving" the mounting hole so they don't stick out past the bodywork.Tho,confusingly I do prefer the small oem lens at the front...go figure . Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. Last edited by jimbob7 on 7th Oct 2015 11:34am. Edited 1 time in total |

When I swapped my 90 for the 110 one of the first things I did was fit the WIPAC stock size LEDs. You can buy them singular or as a kit. If you have a pre 300Tdi you will need to drill two wholes per unit and sort the wiring out which didnt take long in either case.
They are noticeably brighter. Even during sunny days I can see the side lights reflecting off other vehicles. |

/\/\/\,GENUINE QUESTION,NOT ARGUING,Really, dint know this, how does it work then, the only dimensions i've seen for NAS IS 95mm, LED OR INCANDESCENT lens.
The plinth is exactly the same size? Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. |

Don't worry, I'm not up for a fight
The LED version doesn't have the bulb holder sticking out of the back, so it can be moved relative to the body hole so that it no longer sticks out over the body edge. The SVX plinth comes ready-drilled to do this: I think you may be able to drill a genuine/Perei standard NAS plinth to replicate this, but not the pattern (Wipac) one with the moulded-in machine screws. Or I might be making that up as the centre hole is too big The SVX lamp base is only compatible with the LED versions as it has a smaller exit hole for the cable. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW Last edited by Martin on 7th Oct 2015 3:44pm. Thanks, for this...gone are the days of just adding clear lenses! isnt there a LR plinth for the nas spec LED lights that uses the original holes for the small (74mm?) lights therefore no drilling??
I was leaning towards the standard lights - LED unit though, but my wife said NAS LED was better, so i had to look again Mike |
