Senior Stage marshall on my licence
So I have in the past been Chief Marshall, Deputy Stage Commander, Judge of Fact and Stage Safety Officer as well as general safety marshall. My Avatar on the left is the blow up arch that was over the end of Craigvinean for the very first running of Rally Scotland which was a round of the IRL and was broadcast live on Eurosport. Not Land Rover I know but this was my old Ranger, two days old on stage setup duties a few years back Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

I used to compete in the ACSMC/ASEMC Stage Rally Championship in a Subaru Imprezza (in the Avatar) but it got so expensive I gave it up. I also used to compete in Road Rallies, 12 Cars etc and have Marshalled on Rally Wales several times and spannered/managed service crew for friends competing in Rally Wales and many many other rallies across the UK.
One Rally Wales marshalling moment was memorable; there were 3 of us minding a very remote sector in the forest, no spectators or anyone around, all of a sudden a helicopter lands and 3 people get out and come and join us, it was dry but chilly and we shared our flasks of coffee with them. As the competitors started their stages they got very excited about the first few cars through. It turned out that the people that had nicked my coffee were Richard Burns parents and Mrs McRae!! |

I'm a Rally Marshal, registered with the MSA.
Have done 12 cars too as a beginner. Also have assisted with organising and set-up for my club's rally at cadwell park. Would love to get up to Mull, but not this year unfortunately. Was out marshalling at the trackrod last weekend, off to fullbeck and then the malton forest next. I met chris meeke in similar circumstances too, he just appeared out of the woods, and came and had a natter at the junction we were marshalling at. |

That weekend I've been asked to help with marshalling down at Walter's Arena in Glyn Neath for All Wheel Drive Club . They have a Safari meet there.
This is me there earlier in the year. Click image to enlarge |

I have navigated in road rallies back in the 80's and was a reasonably successful co-driver on the UK challenge scene a few years back. Also pit-crewed for TJ101 of this parish on the WRC France. Turned down the chance to crew for him this week on the WRC in Corsica as I already had prior commitments

If you get stuck with the recovery aspect then there's a few members of our Club, Herefordshire Land Rover Club who do some marshalling etc but they're probably going to be there anyway. If you want to double check they can be contacted via farcebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/384847311640070/
Plus they're fairly local |
