Td5 oil
Apologies.....likely this topic has been beat to death here, but......Cheapest deisel oil I can find locally here is mobile one "turbo diesel truck" 5w30. Looking on line it has a ACEA rating of E7.
The handbook ( in German, so I'm guessing here) is ACEA A1 /B1....which appears to be a spec from the early 2000s??

Will E7 meet the requirement? Not really up to speed with these euro oil specs, though I did find a ref to E7 being a commercial specification.
Thanks
Patrick

E7 will be fine, It's a better oil than A/B/C Rating designed for hard use and longer oil change intervals Thumbs Up Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Super...thanks I'll pick some up.

I wanted to do an oil change at the same time I do the oil pump bolt rectification.

The local LR dealer said my 2003 TD5 was outside the window for the oil pump bolt horror show, but some witnesses in Australia report some TD5s with no lock tight on the bolts as late as 2004. They also mentioned that the problem/recall for this bolt was only applicable to the Disco 2. Sounds strange unless the TD5 engines were built on two separate assembly lines for the Disco and the Defender??

I used Mannol PD spec oil for VW Unit Injectors. Seemed more logical for me and proven to be great!

Good price too as I tend to buy 20L/40L in one hit.

Mine is a late 2004 too and the oil pump bolt didn't have locktite. It was however not loose, but I changed it non-the less!
