I will be there. Was a good show last year. I hoped that LandyLive (at the same venue) would be but it was poorly attended.
This was great, and had loads of cool kit to look at. P www.td5.org |

Just say you run it, so it doesn't look like a sneaky plug!! |

What? Hardly GREENI! If it was I would have registered as XXXXXX and said everything in the garden is rosy.
Everyone knows I run it anyway - all except yourself obviously. My username is and always has been Tom Mc (in this and every other forum since the internet was invented) as it is short for Tom McGuigan, that way I'm being 100% transparent. A quick Google will show up all the events I've ever run over the past 18 years, that's how devious I'm being! Moreover, in my post I never mentioned the dates of this year's event or what's going on at the show e.g. specific seminar speakers, the attractions, etc. ... so to say I'm plugging it is a bit rich. Hold on, I didn't even start this thread, just responding to me@td5.org's post by way of explanation. I therefore resent your accusation that it was "a sneaky plug". I am always open and up front, that's never going to change! |

I didn't and your recommendation above for the show you run is hardly transparent... |

I just know you're dangling a lure in front of me and I shouldn't bite, but ...
I don't have to recommend anything. Martin 01 posted about the Adventure Overland Show, not me. I was simply explaining to me@td5.org why LandyLive! wasn't taking place this year, basically I was agreeing with him that is was disappointing. |

Did I hit a nerve?
Edit, as below.. The thread started in August last year. I just saw it as a plug for your upcoming show/s this year, it read as if it was a sneaky plug... Just like the Donnington post. Instead of advertising and promoting your show, like sponsors promote their wares on this forum, it seems that it was a little 'underhand'. Perhaps like 'killer- promoting CSK or Matt promoting FCX etc. I didn't realise everybody knew you. Though I could of course read it incorrectly. For which I apologise. |

Probably did hit a raw nerve. Bad day today as I have finally bitten the bullet and decided to sell my RRC ambulance. After 5 years of saying I am going to convert it into a camper, other ventures mean that I now need the dosh! That's life.
No problem, it's just that I sit in a very grey area. When people talk about the events I run and I answer or give an opinion, it can be seen as 'promoting the event'. I used to let others respond, but the trouble is that very often they only know half the story, so feel it's best I answer with the facts rather than hearsay. I don't always get it right, LandyLive! being a prime example, but without the likes of myself, Mark Woodward (Eastnor Castle/Bristol & West/Malvern) and a couple of others like David Round at Donington 4x4 Show, then the 'big boys' would have the monopoly ... and believe me that wouldn't be good. Keep on ploddin' on is the only way! |

Thanks Tom,
I'll be at the overland show again this year. I prefer it to the LR only shows, it's always good to see what other scenes are doing. www.td5.org |

Well I didn't know you ran the show.
But seeing as you do.can you tidy up the price page as it rambles on for ages. Please make it simple and quick and easy to use.then perhaps more folk will use it |
