May I ask the intended usage of your defender? For example will it be seeing some off-road use as intended by LR, or is it a road going school-run queen like so many on here? Laughing

You may and unlike Barney the tart, mine is a down and dirty mud plugger which hammers the difficult trails of the local Waitrose car park.

As for the school-run, NEVER! ...those awful children may scratch the doors with their satchels, get grime on my full leather interior and mud on the 2" lambs wool carpets; and, that is before a mum opens her door onto my pride and joy, leaving a door ding. Mr. Green

Joking aside, I can't imagine ever doing any heavy off-road with the Defender. Fields, unmade roads, some minor green lanes, camping tracks: yes, but not the kind of off-road duty where a nominal drop will make a huge difference imho.

PS - I've had it wrapped recently, I believe this is excellent autumnal camo

I suppose it's would not be in the spirit of things here to suggest just chucking a bit of weight in the back.... Rolling Eyes Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.

Tyres are as low as I want to take them.

It is a SW and when I'm using it, I often have people in the rear seats. I could load it up with weight but it is inconvenient.

When I said 'to get in the garage', I don't mean to store it for long periods of time, I simply mean to park it when it is not in use for a day. Having to shift a load into it and out of it just to get it into the garage or use the rear seats isn't an option.

I am looking for a permanent solution. Thumbs Up

In all seriousness it seems to me that in order to achieve the result you want, you either wait until the Alive comfort -1" springs are ready OR (and this would be my choice) you fit a different garage door and a whole world of progressive spring rates will open up to you.... Thumbs Up

I offered the Defender up to the garage tonight (again) and I really need 1" minimum.

I have already tried to adjust the door(s) and I can't get any more height on them. Changing the door isn't an option because there are two on the garage and both are automated and only a couple of years old. Changing doors would be a huge expense and tweaking the Def is easier and less costly.

The Extreme4x4 dampers are branded to the company but does anyone know who the original manufacturer is?
