Charging fault?
Hi!

I am stuck in Almaty, Kazachstan with faulty clutch slave cylinder.
Today it was replaced with new one at LR dealer but just after leaving I have realised my charging voltage occassionally dropping to 12v,illuminating the battery dash light.
Is it the generator fault or they may screw something while changng the slave cylinder?

Its 8pm here, tomorrow they continue. Any hints?

I presume they may have isolated the battery whilst working on it? Check the connections. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Thank you for the hints. In the meantime I have swapped the generator but the problem persists.
Today I have crossed to Kyrgystan and noticed the voltage drops only on bumps, sometimes causing the stereo to restart. Jumped under the vehicle, ground cable seems to be firmly fixed to the gearbox. Where shall I look next?

Cheers! Janusz

Battery connectors, starter motor and alternator connections would be my next ports of call. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Thanks again. I will check it. How serious the problem is? Can I continue for e.g. next 1000 km losing charge from time to time? Yesterday I did 300 km, the battery light went on only once, I can see on IBS both batteries are fully charged.

Fixed. Fuel line bracket was rubbing power cables.
