The engine oil needs to be 5w-30 with a ford approval of WSS m2C 934B which is ok for your engine as it has a DPF filter the 15-40 rotella isn't compatible.
The axles have a simple drain and level bung for the fill. you are looking at about 1.7 litres to fill and using a good 75W-90 oil. The gearbox oil is a 75 - 90 full synthetic gear oil I like many use Castrol syntrans multivehicle with no apparent Ill effects. It is 2.2 litres in capacity and imho measuer the right amount and use a long pipe and funnel and fill from the engine bay as it is tight to get to the filler which should be an 8mm hex bit Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest |

You’re risking damage to the diesel particulate filter using a non approved engine oil. If it were me, I’d change it.
When I changed my gearbox oil I used the LR spec fluid, it was not cheap but for me gave peace of mind. Available as p/n LR006519. In the box is a 1l bottle of Castrol BOT328. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2 |

So your gearbox gives you your 6 forward/1 reverse gear. The transfer box is bolted to the back and has two ratios- high and low. These act ‘in series’ with the main gears to effectively give you 12 forward and 2 r verse gears.
So yes, different things with different oil specs/capacities. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2 |

When I first serviced my 2.2 2012 Puma I put together this list of oils & capacities:
After studying information online and consulting Opie Oils for advice, Concluded that the following oils are appropriate: Engine 7 litres For the engine equipped with DPF, oil needs to be 5W-30 to spec. Ford M2C934-B (low SAPS). Opie oils has several. Selected Millers XF Longlife C1 5W-30 Synthetic. Gearbox 2.2 litres Handbook says Castrol BOT130M but this is not generally available. It is a synthetic 75W/90 GL-4 spec. Selected Castrol Syntrans Multivehicle 75W-90 GL-4 synthetic . Transfer Box 2.4 litres Handbook recommends Castrol Syntrax 75W-90 or equivalent. Selected Castrol Syntrax Universal Plus 75W-90 GL-5 synthetic Diffs 1.7 litres each Handbook recommends Texaco Geartex EP 85W/90 or equivalent. Opie Oils recommended Castrol Syntrax Universal Plus 75W-90 GL-5 synthetic |

The Sintopoid on the left there is what I used in my axle just the other day.
A 1L Sealey (or similar brand) fluid transfer pump really helps to get the accurate 1.7L in but check you're on level ground too. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
