Pioneer on-screen keyboard not working
Hi everyone. I have a Pioneer stereo, nav system in my Defender which has been working absolutely fine. I reset everything in order to change password, but the on-screen keyboard will only function for letters, not numbers. In fact, the entire bottom row of the keyboard no longer seems to work. As such, I can't enter my original password as it contains a number, and am locked out! Any suggestions?

Contact a manufacturer authorised repairer, otherwise if you play with it it'll probably get locked and need this doing anyway.

They usually check the serial number do some electronics and give you a new code and your good to go.
Mind you, if it has done what you describe I'd call it a design fault....

Thanks, Steve. I'll do exactly that. Just wondered if anyone had come across the problem before.

Might be worth checking if your under warranty or not too? Depends on the docs you had with it and how long you've had it for though.
An authorised dealer worth their salt should know exactly what to do with it or failing that have contacts to sort it out.
Chances are it won't cost you much at all unless there is actually something wrong which I doubt.

Steve - now all sorted via warranty and service centre. Just thought I'd let you know and say thanks for support.

Excellent news! You are welcome.
Did they mention what it was in the end or just replaced?

They replaced the entire unit - report sheet mentioned failed touchscreen, digitiser, etc and several other faults. But they are history now ....
