dash rattle solved
just a heads up for anyone who may hear a loose tinny rattle in there dash, turns out that the socket that you plug in a computer watsit in (you know the one next to the fuses under the dash) well the torx screw that holds it in place had worked loose, and as sound does it travels and seems to be coming from just under the top of the dash, so a lucky find, hope this helps someone not go insane and rip apart there dash. Whistle

I found I get a squeak seemingly coming from the dash when the rubber inserts on the bonnet hinges get very dry. I squirt a little oil on them and that cures it until they dry out again. Happened with the Tdi too and the same thing solved that too. Might help someone. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
