Hi Martin
Halfords do them. You have the choice of either 1w or 2w bulbs from memory so you can decide whether you want a "bright" dash or a dim one. Nick. |

I thought the 509t bulbs were for the speedo & clocks ?
The ones I'm after are for the small square T/C & ABS type. I presume these are individual bulbs. Are these in Halfrauds ? |

Jimbob7,
No traction control light is lit up on the dash but I could hear it working last time out. Also have ABS as seen the unit under the bonnet in far left corner. I have also seen the bulbs covered up to mask a problem. Hopefully will take it apart & find the problem. |

FYI,from what I remember abs, tc and handbrake warning lights are on the same block connector at the rear of the dash, any other lights missing? If you know someone with diagnostics you can check your warning bulb function, you can with Lynx anyhows.
Hope this helps. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. |

Just opened up the instrument panel with the clocks in, took the back off & found that they are lit by LED's.
On closer inspection of the ABS & T/C section I found both had black tape in failing to illuminate them. Took the tape out & they now light up. Problem is they don't go out. Now I presume there is a problem with one or both of them. Will a diagnostic check reveal the problem ? Or do I need to book it in to the local Indy to take a look ? Thanks for all the replies up to now guys. |

Diagnostic check is the best way forward. That will give you a basis to start with. Not all faults on the ABS and TC are financially devastating. It was a bit naughty of the previous owner to have done the bodge especially if it has had a recent MoT as they are testable items and should have been picked up by the MoT tester!

+1 for diagnostic, does your handbrake light work as it should, coz that should also be lit with an ABS fault (its a general brake error warning light also). ABS or TC will be the same fault, can't have one without the other .
The local Indy will be good providing he has Autologic,or LR Testbook, Snap-on is still an amatur in diagnostics. Or anyone with Nanocom, Hawkeye or Lynx will diagnose it for you. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. |

Just replaced my hand brake switch (old one's guts was icons on the carpet) and discovered light would not illuminate! Checked fuses, then brake fluid switch (removed the cap) and still would not illuminate! Opened up the instrument cluster and hey presto some green masking tape over the lens! Thanks to this thread, for the tips! Only downside now is I cannot get the light to illuminate for low brake fluid! Tried disconnecting one of the wires and also removed the cap from the little tank but still it doesn't light up! Maybe I need a new cap! Is this an MOT fail still? Cheers |
