Any advice on a Momo specific 48 spline boss?
I've done a search before hand, and dont seem to have come across anyone who has had the issues that i have. (I doubt thats true, more than likely im just a tumshy at searching)

I initially wanted to fit a Momo steering wheel on my 14 plate

The boss that i purchased was a Momo 5802LR and the correct 48 splines.

Fitted fine, but the problem i had was the centre cover/horn wouldnt push down and seat correctly due to there being no room as the steering wheel nut was in the road.

Through experience guys, which Momo fitment bosses give plenty clearance for the horn to fit correctly?

Look forward to your answer. Cheers,

Michael

The Springalex ones from MPS-Trading and others (all on ebay) will give about 10mm clearance.

Brilliant thanks.

Anybody else know of any other tried and tested specific boss or boss & adapters which result in the perfect horn clearance? Cheers,

Michael

Bosses from Momo can be quite hit and miss, we've had deliveries in before from Momo with 3 different sized bosses in the same batch.

It is possible to dismantle / adapt the horn push to fit if you want to go that route

No, its the Momo Quark i have.

Its horn is hard black plastic with brass connectors on the back. It would be impossible to take it apart. The only solution would be to take a dremel to it, and i dont want to do that.

All i need is enough room for it to fit on, and the Momo kit never allowed it enough room due to the steering wheel nut.

Ideally someone who has a Quark fitted.... which boss did you use? Cheers,

Michael

Pretty much all the horn pushes are the same.

Yes, you'll have to take a Dremel to it but horn pushes are only pennies.

The point I was making was that we have had a batch of 5802LR bosses in and each one has been different.

I can tell you that the Optimill boss will only work with the supplied cap and you can't use your horn push at all.
