Have you fitted the Dirt D Fenders on the front and back or just the fronts ?

A quick internet purchase.
I emailed MUD before xmas about their sun visor mirror to see if they did it in black too, so it matched my nice black headlining and sun visors, and now they do! So, ordered one for the passenger side and a couple of their curry hooks to put in the rear to hang coats on when out shooting. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Hi RRUK, The Dirt D-fenders come with a short piece of foam with an adhesive backing. What exactly is this for please - if you used it during your installation ? Thank you. |

The single foam strip is so that you can plug any gaps due to land rover build tolerance. I found I used a bit in each corner. 2016 D4 HSE

More presents in the post.
The MUD sun visor mirror arrived, along with the 2 curry hooks which I shall use as coat hooks. The mirror looks better than on the MUD site as the grained finish looks better than their photos, and the entire back is covered in a sticky pad. These are designed for the original sun visors, I'm not sure if they would work on the black alcantara ones (do they have mirrors in them already?) The curry hooks just need two small holes drilled into the plastic trim to fix, the lower is a positioning peg and the upper for a self tapper. Easiest jobs ever. Was in Tesco today in the motoring section and saw this little gizmo.
Basically it must be a bag of Silica Gel crystals or similar. A coloured indicator on the outside shows you when it is saturated and you recharge it by heating on a radiator or in the microwave. For a car like a Defender which can easily get damp inside with drips and leaks, this seemed a no brainer to me so I have installed one in the cab. It was £7.50. Pic to follow. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Those Mudstuff mirrors do work with the black headlining visors
These new ones look rather better made than previous versions from Mudstuff, which appeared to be held together with hot glue and I had one come apart. The new ones appear to have a proper retainer for the mirror inside the plastic frame - very nicely made. Dave Green Goddess - 1998 Defender 110 300tdi |

Looks good, I would be interested to hear how you get on with this product RRUK. Also I'm thinking of getting the Mud vanity mirror for the Missus for Valentines day she always checks for a mirror when she jumps in the Defender. A couple of tweaks.
Fitted the MUD hooks in the back on each side for hanging my shooting coat. Simple to fit. The positioning peg on it needs a 4mm hole to seat it, then I used a 2.5mm drill for the pilot hole and the s/s self tapper screw in each. I positioned them near the metal hanging support bracket for the side trim for extra strength. Next I measured and cut a piece of the windscreen sun film to help with the blinding sun rays that get between the rear view mirror and the sun visors when it's low in the sky. Fitting is simple, pull the film apart to reveal the tinted side and coat in soapy liquid from a spray gun, plus on the glass. Then slip on to its position and spray the top surface. This lubes the squeegee as you work out the liquid and air bubbles till it's flat and sealed. Then dry and leave taking care not to move it. Be gentle. It may not look very fancy but it's functional and it works. If you look at the pics you can also see the MUD vanity mirror in place.
