It happens. I once had that same standard intercooler pipe burst too and then it was replaced by a new standard one. You can buy aftermarket silicon pipes from various suppliers, or you can go all the way for stainless steel as I have done recently, and which is a permanent solution. I bought these stainless pipes from Entreq which is top quality. Installation can be a pain though, which in my case was alleviated by having Entreq do the installation themselves at their workshop. Having replaced the pipe already, what I'll probably do is fit these if the issue arises again:

Maybe I'm wrong, but do original parts have no limited warranty, certainly if dealer installed? I believe it is at least 1 year by law. Ask Ryan maybe? You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

For the £30 odd quid it cost I doubt I'll bother. We fitted it ourselves anyway.
