The trailer socket is quite common for corroding on the inside so you might be best unplugging the whole wiring section under the drivers side rear arch and Unbolting the tow socket, dismantling and checking all the wires. Ray

Thanks Ray. I did unbolt the socket to get at the back. The connections have been set in a solid lump of some sort of silicon sealer and did look sound.

Add a jury earth ( temp earth) then see what happens, most likely cause in my opinion.
Check earth stud / strap on transfer bid if a Puma, clean and refit. |
