custom ..... do you simply use silicone to fix your c plate....no screws or rivets .....how long has it lasted?

That is a good idea... Sikaflex would work well. What do you 'fill' the countersunk holes with mate... cut off bolt heads? YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Agree Sikaflex is a one way process. Better to use gasket and bead the chequerplate edge with Sikaflex if required. At least you will if required have a fair chance of being able to remove it later. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I used this stuff
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEOPRENE-RUBBER-...1075827316 I would stick it onto the chequer plate rather than the body work (unlike Land Rover). I have taken mine off to be reannodised in black and sourced this before I started. It was an absolute pig to remove the old stuff from the sills. Land Rover stuck it on full width for the first and last 200mm or so, then just stuck on about a 25mm strip top and bottom, but I would presume this was cost saving and it makes more sense to me to just cover the full sill. 2002 110 td5 |
