First service or 12,000 mile service in 2009 cost me 213 which included an oil change at a maindealer. Prices seem to vary.
Second or 24,000 mile service ran to 350 at the same dealer.Air and fuel filters were the expensive items on that one. You should get an invoice, a Land Rover visual healthcheck sheet with appropriate checks ticked and items needing attention (like a small oil leak from the rear diff in my case. This will be attented to under warranty when the parts are ordered in). Also a Land Rover maintenance checksheet with all work sceduled to be carried out marked off on it. Armed with those three things you have comprehensive paperwork stating everything that should be done has been done. Don't forget to get stuck into the tea and biscuits while you are there. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

I dont think you will get a UK service at a main dealer into the 200 mark - I rang every dealer in the midlands and managed to get about 110 off the price, but i wouldnt expect much more.
Prices do vary across the UK - but i would suggest around the 300 mark is about as low as you see your first service. Mike |

When I was looking a few months ago the cheapest local main dealer was Likes in Brecon. I was after a 2 year service, but their twelve month one was 285 at the time. Peter

At least it provides us the opportunity to increase our post count! i paid 225 inc vat with a main dealer after pointing out the cost of an independent 1st service. Then they found a couple of oil weeps which was fixed under warranty, via another dealer as the other dealer only offered a Mini Countryman as a courtesy car.
As an aside the 110 Puma seems to use little engine oil. I've just done 800 miles last weekend, and 6k since the 12k service and I've put about a half a pint in since then. |

Mse,
I quoted you merely to agree with your point of getting about 100 off through negotiation (if you read your quote and my sentence it still makes sense to me???). No other reason! Apologies my post obviously wasn't clear enough and/or you misread it! The ensuing sentence about this subject having been done to death was not directed at you in particular and it has been "Done to death that is!" If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |
