Jaro, one thing you need to do asap is get something on the inside of the panels on the 90. They are very thin and if anything leans against them you'll get a nice dent which is very visible from outside.
Mine is ply lined and has survived very well (at least from internal damage!). Mud stuff do some nice trim panels if you fancy something a bit neater than ply. http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/mud-stu...anels.html Cheers Simon |

Clayton, very true - nice silver tone alloys would indeed look good and improve the black/silver scheme! At the moment though I've put a lot into all sorts of security for the 90 so wheels will have to wait until I replenish the savings... The plan is though to put my dual finish/SVX alloys from 110 onto the 90 and then get adventure edition or black sawtooths with wider tires for the 110 - so it would match the black contrast roof and give it better stance Will also keep the steels though for offroading, so they will most likely appear on either of the trucks now and then and spoil the looks
Indeed Simon, that's exactly what I was thinking about. Have almost learned the hard way when I was loading a ladder the other day. Have considered the MUD panels as they look very neat. The thing is though, Mrs JK, wants to change the side panels for landyglass as she's struggling a bit with visibility - or that's her excuse to keep driving my 110 Initially I was against the landyglass as I find it a bit too bling (just personal preference, wouldn't want to insult anyone!), but then I looked at some pictures and on black HTs it's almost hard to tell the difference. Now because I would only change the side panels and not go for the wrap around solution, the quote I got from Dave at VGS was very attractive. I would need to add internal side window guards for protection though which again starts to increase the costs (will be installing them for rear windows shortly)...and would need to find a free day to drive up to Birmingham ...decisions decisions MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html MY16 Santorini 90 HT - sold |

Jaro, I agree with your views about Landyglass. No offence to anyone who has it, but I don't think it looks right, and I'd worry about replacing it if/when it gets broken. From what I've seen, it is bonded/glued to the van sides and I imagine it would be hard to get off?
But if you need the visibility improving then it's an option.. Cheers Simon |

Now that is an interesting observation Simon - being a bit shortsighted I haven't considered what would potential repairs amount to. For the sake of visibility, I guess it might be worth looking at proper windows being installed - another research task I guess One never gets bored with these trucks! One of many reasons we like them so much MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html MY16 Santorini 90 HT - sold |

Sounds very good sir, I certainly won't say no to an invitation like that! My wife has recently moved to Barnstaple for work and I hope to follow suit at some point later this year, so definitely good to meet 'local' Def2net folk
Btw, that is a loaded truck in every sense Looks she's a hard working one! Click image to enlarge MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html MY16 Santorini 90 HT - sold |

I did not doubt for a second she's well looked after Clayton Well I must tap your knowledge of local lanes at some point then We were talking with Simon (Couplands) last time we met down in Cornwall that it would be good to explore some lanes in Devon/Cornwall but neither of us knows any. Now we have the man though Will try to organise something closer to summer once things settle down a bit on my side. MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html

I have to say though you two will have to take it easy with me - two beasts with snorkels, roll cages, rock sliders, etc vs my shiny princess MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html

Good idea Jaro there are some lanes that your "princess" would go on without anything touching her but depending on what type of summer we have, she might get DIRTY
Nice area around Barnstaple, do alot of work around their, well nearly everywhere I met Simon at the DEF2 meet at Devon 4X4, top man Clayton. |
